Fun and Games

Apologies for the erratic nature of the site recently my laptop got a virus which took a while to fix. Then i had problems with redirecting some old pages to the new ones. fingers crossed its fixed. For all the geeks out there - don;t put spaces in your html files because if you ever need to redirect then htaccess will say -- some very unpleasent things and so will you !!! Hopefully now i can get back to content. Phew.

Christchurch Quakes

Poor old Christchurch. Their faults seem to be on the move. When we learn about earthquakes and hear about them on the news we don t really take into account the human stress that they cause. We just come up with statistics. The people of Christchurch ar living with so much uncertainty. I would nt be surprised to see people move away just for peace of mind. Once a disaster has gone from the news we tend to think its all ok again. Spare a thought then for Christchurch,Haiti and Japan.

Chile,fracking and etna

Fantastic pictures of Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcano has erupted in Chile after a large earthquake at the weekend.Ash and debris are erupting from a 5km long fissure on the volcano. 4000 people have been evacuated. The ash has drifted over to Argentina and temporarily closed Beunos Aries Airport, flights in Chile and Uruguay.More lava eruptions could be coming so keep watching.

The Fracking issue rumbles on-literally.After several small earthquakes due to fracking near blackpool drilling has stopped. Fracking is the injection of high pressure fluids into gas bearing shales to release gas reserves.

Forgot to say that my June 1st etna anniversary has just passed. This is where the photo on the blog is on . Read the story here http://www.explorevolcanoes.com/new-volcano-travel-holidays.html
